Elizabeth R. Foer, 73, of Cheesequake Village in Matawan, NJ , formerly of Rutherford, passed away suddenly on November 19, 2019. Elizabeth was born in Newark to Philip and Elizabeth (Burke) Foer.
Betsy was a devout communicant of Most Holy Redeemer RC Church in Matawan.
She retired as Associate Director in the Archdiocesan Catechetical Office in Newark after many dedicated years of service. Prior to that she taught at Blessed Sacrament School in Newark.
Betsy was predeceased by her parents, brothers; Philip E. Foer Jr. and John A. Palmer and her niece Alaine (Neil) Burke.
She will be remembered for her loyalty to family and friends. She loved theatre, travel, exploring her family tree, and hosting an array of gatherings at her home. She was also very involved at her church and in her local community.
Betsy is survived by her nephews; Michael (Dona) Palmer of Wall and Christopher (Allison ) Foer of Whippany, nieces; Kimberly (Felim) Buckley of West Orange, Cynthia Mackin (Dean) of Pittsburgh, PA, Leslie (Tom) Wicander of Ct and Kathy (David) Morse of Pt Pleasant , sister-in-law, Marilyn Palmer of Spring Lake, as well as, several great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sun., Nov. 24th from 4-7pm at Bedle Funeral Home, 212 Main St., Matawan, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Mon., Nov.25th, 10am at Most Holy Redeemer RC Church, 133 Amboy Rd., Matawan, NJ with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ.
