Cornell "Petey" Bewley, born on May 6, 1942, in Morristown, Tennessee, to the late Cornell Bewley and Rita Polly Bewley. The family later moved to Newark, New Jersey, and then he later moved to Cliffwood, New Jersey. Petey knew everyone and everyone knew Petey. He worked for himself doing masonry work, which he loved. He was well known for his masonry skills. His other passions included hunting and fishing. He was a simple man who loved life and lived it quietly. He leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Cornell Bewley, III and William Cornell Evans, and one daughter, Valerie Bewley-Washington; his grandchildren, Vivian, Liam, Sir, Destainee, Tony, Jr. and Imani; his great-grandson, Alexander and his siblings, Sarah Bewley, Linda Bewley and Fred Bewley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cornell and Rita Bewley, his brothers, William Bewley and Antonius Bewley and his ex-wife, Juanita Bewley.
Special thanks to Elaine Rodgers, who stood by Petey until the end, her dedication never wavered and to Tonika Bannis for your help and kindness.
